A weekend escape to sunny Sydney provided me with ample opportunity to be trigger happy...Day one: First stop at Coogee Beach and then the famous Bondi Beach (above). The sand is thick and deep and soft, and babes are more posh and cars are mainly 2 doors. No, I didn't manage to spot a topless babe though... tough luck! Then, lunch at fish market where all sorts of shellfish are before heading off to the Blue Mountains...Blue Mountains are said to have a blue tinge in colour because of a type of bacteria that grows there (bacteralis bluis mountainis or something of that sort). Right at the heart of winding road through the Great Dividing Range, township of Katoomba provides a nice hippie market place to chill out and get fascinated at various local produce and handicraft.
Australians like to tone it up. For example, they named "12 apostles" even though there are only 9. Two collapsed and a plane collided into one (ya right!), so I have been told. At least they named this rock formation truthfully the Three Sisters. Make sure you keep this picture in your pocket just in case a few years down the track, you happen to visit the place and only one sister left, as the other two might have been gone by then...
Two icons of Australia at night. The Harbour Bridge, dull as it may seem during day time, looks majestically beautiful at night...
And nearby, the Opera House glows in white...
Day 2 at the Darling Harbour. Warm, sunny and bustling with activities right in the heart of the city. Lining both sides of the harbour are little cafes to chill and take in the sunshine...
Sydney at a glance...
The trip ended with a walk through the Royal Botanical Gardens back to the Opera House...
