Triumph de Arks

Finally I bought a digital SLR. Somehow lost interest in normal "point and shoot" compacts ever since mine was stolen a few years back. And I thought if I were to buy one again, might as well get something that requires more brain than just point and shoot type. YES! so I bagged home today Pentax *ist DL2 with 18 - 125mm lens, thinking I could turn pro overnight. So my friend spent the whole afternoon teaching me with practical lessons on how exposure is dependent on three variable factors; inversely related to shuttle speed, directly related to aparture size and ISO, which finally made me understand - what type of headache a person with migraine would get when he developed tension headache at the same time with sudden onset subarachnoid bleed...

Yep, so here I am, spent the whole night sitting in front of my fish tank and papparrazzi-ing my dear fishes. They are beautiful, believe me, those African tropical type from Lake Malawi, practically living in perpetual soap water with pH of 10!!! Hardy little buggers - survived amazingly a neglect of 6 solid weeks! Swift as a lark too! Which really frustrated me, because if my friend's teachings were right, there is no way I could get a clear focus on a fish with correct exposure. So I spent 3 hours harrassing my fish, clicking away 100s of pictures with different settings, and eventually managed to pick just one perfect shot... (zoom 125mm, F/5.6, Exp Time 1/10s)
