Last day in Neurology

This week is the last week of Neurology/Stroke rotation at Western. Couldn't believe 13 weeks have passed just like that.

Here is a snap shot of our unit run by 3 consultants and a fellow, 2 registrars and 2 residents. With Simon, my reg the "rare magnet" around, it's not a surprise that in those 13 weeks, we have seen:

1) 4 or 5 cases of CIDP
2) 1 case of UNILATERAL CIDP
3) 2 cases of newly diagnosed motor neurone disease in the ward AT THE SAME TIME (incidence is around 1:1,000,000 by the way)
4) CADASIL
5) Carcinomatous meningitis
This is my friend Cuong, the other resident. His favourite question is "Where is Jaya?" Jaya, of course is his registrar who is always busy with other procedural stuff in DPU or Neurophysiology unit to be physically around on the ward. Jaya is very knowledgeable and helpful but seldom has time for everything so Cuong has done a great job in managing patients all by himself most of the time. Yet he can be seen sheepishly running around the ward from time to time with a pitiful look on his face asking "Where is Jaya?" to anyone he comes across. Poor lost soul...
Clockwise from the back: Me, Simon, Cuong and Meena (one of the ANUMs)
Simon has been behaving erratically of late, especially since he came back from Delta Med and got his brain fried. But with him around, I don't have to worry a single thing. He is a consultant, registrar and resident all in one (The Neurology Trinity). Thanks mate!
Of course other important team members are nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, dietitians, ward pharmacists and a lovely ward clerk. Didn't have a chance to take their photos but great working with everyone of you guys!

Hang on, I think we are missing someone here. Oh ya... Where is Jaya???
