ODI - Aust vs NZ

Commonwealth Bank One Day International Series between Australia and New Zealand at MCG. My first time going to ODIs and my bro tagged along with me... It was such a lovely bright and sunny day with supporters from both sides high in spirits! I wore a green polo top but it wasn't deep enough to match the baggy green shade...

This is the Kiwi Army, who declared that Beige was the new All Black... ya!!! whatever... it doesn't make sense at all and that doesn't bother me anyway.

At the other end, Aussie supporters took up their place, with "skippy" having the best spot...

And our young cheer leaders rallied the crowd with "Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi..."

New Zealnd warmed up for the slaughter... This is Daniel Vettori (commonly known between my brother and I as the "Nerd" for his mathematical and computing mind before pursuing career as a full time spin bowler. He still retains his nerdiness, calculating every single ball he delivers)

Kiwis drew the first blood, as they tried to set pace...

First ball of the match by Brett Lee (Aust fast bowler) to Vincent admist the chants of Kiwi fans singing "Brett Lee is a wanker, Brett Lee is a wanker"

Hodge of Aust looked on as NZ set a formidable score of 291 runs, unaware that he himself would later become the match hero...

Mexican wave was banned by the officials, but did we care???

Some even tossed "Skippy" in the air...

while others ran naked onto the field...

But in the end, Ricky Ponting took charge of the Australian run chase...

And we all got what we came here for...

A Ponting's well composed century!!!

Australia won by 5 wickets with Hodge making 99 runs after a thrilling chase...

Congratulations Australia!!!

And congratulations Ricky Ponting for being the Test Cricketer of the Year and being the first one to win Alan Border Medal for 3 times!!!
